
Every year, millions of students sit the Joint Admissions Board examination JAMB, but only a few students have the privilege of being admitted to the university. This results in students staying at home until the next time they repeat this EXAM. After many attempts, some give up their desired course of study or even school; Imagine someone who is passionate about law who wants to be a lawyer and then applies to another
course that is different from law. This was the local problem for many years until the government stepped in to save students with a program called the Interim Joint Matriculation Board, known as the IJMB.
So if for one reason or another you weren’t admitted, maybe kept trying or gave up on the Jamb exam, I’m here to tell you that this isn’t the end of the world. , there is still hope and the JUPEB is the way.
WHAT IS JUPEB:
It is the acronym Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board, It is an Approved, Proven & Certified Advanced level programme moderated by the University Of Lagos and having the coordinating body in various tertiary institutions and different study centres nationwide.
The programme is specifically designed to provide an opportunity for candidates who cannot gain admission to regular degree programmes in Nigerian Universities for one reason or the other, as the programme only requires candidates O’level results, JAMB result, Also awaiting result candidate can Enrol and this time around into 200 level
JUPEB IS Approved:
By the Federal Government has a platform for securing admission into a higher institution in the country and abroad.
JUPEB IS Proven:
Since 2012 when JUPEB was established, it has been used by many in thousands to gain admission into the university of their choice
JUPEB IS Certified:
By Nigeria University Commission (NUC) has an Advanced level examination that qualifies students into 200level via JAMB
HOW JUPEB WORKS:
Prospective JUPEB candidates are required to select any THREE (3) A/L JUPEB Subject Combination plus Genel studies (English Language) identified with their preferred course of study in the university be it Science, Art or Social Science Course.
Candidates would then be lectured for the stipulated period at their respective Study Centres and thereafter sit for the final examination. After the programme, successful candidates accordingly use their JUPEB result to gain admission into 200level almost Southern universities in Nigeria except for UI
JUPEB PROGRAMME DURATION:
JUPEB A’level programme runs for a maximum period of one academic session(9-10month) divided into two(2) semesters.
JUPEB PROGRAMME ELIGIBILITY:
The programme is open to all interested candidates nationwide and any course can be offered to be it Science, Art or Social Science. All candidates who wish to apply for JUPEB foundation programme must possess a minimum of credit passes in at least five (5) subjects at o’level including Mathematics and English Language at not more than 2 sittings in WAEC, GCE or NECO. However, candidates can apply with awaiting results pending the time their o’level results will be ready.

The Joint University Preliminarily Examination Board (JUPEB) fees can be paid on installment.

JUPEB Certificate are highly respected and recognized by various higher institutions both in Nigeria and abroad. The certificates/results are acceptable in increasing number of institutions in the country. The Federal Government, through its various educational agencies, recognize JUPEB as an National Examination body saddled with the responsibility of conducting examinations for securing admission into higher institution. The syllabus is approved by the National Education Research and Development Council (NERDC) and the JUPEB examination result are listed among the acceptable modes of entry in the JAMB brochure.
JUPEB certificate is presently recognised and accepted in more than 60% of Nigeria federal, state and private Universities. For many decades, Nigerian higher institutions have been admitting students with JUPEB results into their undergraduate programmes.
