Details for the UBA Foundation Essay Competition
A national essay competition, the 2023 UBA Foundation Essay Competition is intended for exceptional senior school pupils in Nigeria who possess the ability to compose articles on popular national issues.
The tournament is held every year as a part of the UBA Foundation’s education program, which aims to stimulate healthy intellectual competition among secondary school students in Nigeria and throughout Africa, as well as to promote a reading culture.
Requirements for the UBA Foundation Essay Competition
Those who wish to enter the UBA Foundation Essay Competition must:
💠must be a senior secondary school student in Nigeria.
💠must include a passport photo.
💠must upload a scanned copy of a form of identification (such as a passport, national ID, or birth certificate). The essay entry.
💠must be submitted before the deadline.

The UBA Foundation Essay Competition will award winning entries with up to N10,000,000.00 in funding, which will be distributed as follows: N5,000,000.00 + Prize + Award + Przes (1st Runner-up) N3,000,000.00 + Award + Przes (Winner) (2nd Runner-Up): N2,000,000.00 + Award + Prizes
Please be aware that the money will be given as a grant for the recipient to pursue an undergraduate degree at any institution in Africa of their choosing.

A scanned copy of the applicant’s international passport data page or original birth certificate must be uploaded.
A handwritten essay (of no more than 750 words) must be uploaded by applicants on the portal.
It is required that all entries be submitted using the official contest portal.
Additionally, the essay must be unique, free of plagiarism, and include all relevant citations.
